BILS organised an opinion sharing meeting on inclusive growth and role of trade union on September 13, 2020 at Asia Hotel and Resort, Dhaka.

Main objectives of the meeting was to inform the national trade union federation leaders about the initiatives and plans taken by the government to ensure decent work through the inclusion and participation of workers in the national development goals; adding specific guidelines to the policies to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic situation and to determine the role of trade unions in the implementation of the policy.

In the meeting Md. Aminul Islam and Dr. A H M Mostain Billah present the key note paper on “Inclusive growth and role of trade union” while Bangladesh Trade Union Kendra President Sahidullah Chowdhury, Jatiya Sramik Jote President Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Jatiya Sramik League President Fazlul Haque Montu, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain, Bangladesh Trade Union Sangha General Secretary Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam, Socialist Workers Front President Razekuzzaman Ratan, Jatiya Sramik Jote Bangladesh President Saifuzzaman Badsha, General Secretary Naimul Ahsan Jewel, Jatiya Sramik Federation President Quamrul Ahsan, Workers Specialist of Decent Work Technical Team at ILO South Asia Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed, BILS Executive Council Secretary Abdul Kader Howleder and Abul Kalam Azad, IBC General Secretary China Rahman, BILS Executive Council Member Abdul Wahed, Shakil Akhter Chowdhury, Pulak Ranjan Dhar, Nasrin Akhter Dina were present at the meeting.
