BILS, with the support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) organised a consultation meeting regarding rights and social safety of fishing workers on November 26, 2017 at BILS Seminar Hall. Planning to implement advocacy activities aimed at ensuring rights and social safety of fishing workers was the main objective of the meeting.

Defining role of Trade Union for ensuring rights and occupational safety of fishing workers, finding the way of involving fishing workers in Trade Union and defining BILS role in implementing network structure with the organisations were the discussed issues in the meeting.

BILS Advisory Council Member Mesbahuddin Ahmed chaired the meeting while BILS Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed delivered the welcome speech. Besides, Central Leaders of SKOP affiliated and BILS associated National Trade Union Federations, Leaders from SKOP affiliated National Trade Union Federations of different divisions and districts, Fishing Cooperative Association Leaders and BILS Leaders were present in the meeting.
