Advisory Council Member of Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS, former Member of parliament and whip and eminent trade union leader Ashraf Hosain passed away at United Hospital, Dhaka on, July 18, 2020 at 3.30 am. (Innalillahe Wa Innailahe Rajeun). He was 80. He has left behind his two son, one daughter, relatives, friends, co-workers and a huge number of well-wishers.

BILS Chairman Md. Habibur Rahman Shiraz and Secretary General Nazrul Islam Khan expressed their deep condolence on behalf of the BILS family, adding that his death has caused irreparable damage to the trade union movement in Bangladesh. They prayed for the peace of his departed soul and said that the working people will never forget his contribution.
