BILS, with the support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) organised a meeting titled, “World of Work and BILS Journal Meeting” on July 22, 2018 at BILS Seminar Hall.

The meeting was organised to discuss about BILS journal ‘Labour’ and development issues and to mark the areas of forthcoming journals. Besides, taking directions, suggestions and recommendations for future issues, areas and initiatives from the discussion were also objectives of the meeting. Discussants recommended collecting analytical articles and interviews based on different issues and they suggested to add some issues on trade agreement, child labour and home based workers in the journal.

BILS Vice Chairman Md. Mojibur Rahman Bhuiyan presided over the meeting while BILS Journal Advisory Committee Member Dr. Monirul I. Khan, Roy Ramesh Chandra, Shahidullah Chowdhury, Rowshan Jahan Shathi, FES Resident Representative Tina Blohm, Ministry of Labour and Employment Former Secretary Dr. Mahfuzul Haque, TUC Office Secretary Shahida Parvin Shikha, Associate Professor, Journalism and Media Studies, Stamford University Bangladesh Md. Mosharrof Hossain, Lecturer, Criminology and Police Science, MBSTU Aurongajeb Akond, Assistant Professor, Criminology and Police Science, MBSTU Subrata Banarjee, The Daily Sun Senior Sub-Editor Z.A.M. Khairuzzaman, BILS Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed and Project Coordinator Kohinoor Mahmood and Nazma Yesmin were present in the meeting.
