BILS, under DGB-BW project organised a awareness raising camp on September 30, 2020 at Kalurghat Industrial Area, Chattogram. Nearly 100 local trade union leaders and activists attended the camp.

The discussion meeting was presided over by local trade union leader and JSL Kalurghat Industrial Area President Ali Akbor. BILS-LRSC Coordintion Committee Chairman labour leader A M Nazimuddin was the chief guest in the meeting. BILS-LRSC senior officer Pahari Bhattacharjee and Rizwanur Rahman Khan was enlisted discussants. Chattogram BTUC secretary K M Shahidullah, local TU leaders Md. Salauddin & Tamizuddin of JSL, Abdul Matin of BJSD, Abdul Kader & Rasheda Begum of BFTUC spoke on the occasion.

The meeting expressed deep concern over the unemployment of informal sector workers, ongoing illegal lay-off and forced termination of workers in printing & electronic media, RMG and other sectors, social insecurity of day laborers, construction workers, hotel and health workers beside less payment by the employers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
