Domestic Workers Coordination Council and Domestic Workers Rights Network jointly orgainsed a protest rally and human chain on October 23, 2018 in front of National Press Club demanding fair trial and exemplary punishment to the criminals in the incident of continuous inhuman torture on child domestic workers all over the country.

Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain presided over the human chain and Jatiya Garhastha Nari Sramik Union Advisor Abul Hossain moderated the programme while Jatiya Sramik Jote Working President Md. Abdul Wahed, Bangladesh Sramik Federation General Secretary A A M Fayez Hossain, BFTUC Secretary Pulak Ranjan Dhar, Jatiya Sramik League representative Kazi Rahima Akhter Sathi, Sramik Nirapotta Forum representative Sekander Ali Mina, National Domestic Workers Coordination Council representative Advocate Naznin Nahar Nirupoma, Ain O Salish Kendra representative Fatema Jannat Munia, Karitas Legal Aid O_cer Rasel Hossain delivered their speech.

Representatives of BLAST, Karmojibi Nari, Bangladesh Labour Foundation, Nari Maitree, Awaj Foundation along with network affiliated human rights organisations , leaders of National Trade Union Federations and representatives of professional organisations were present to express their solidarity.

Speakers in the human chain urged to implement “Domestic Workers Protection and Welfare Policy 2015” for the protection of domestic workers all over the country. Besides, they urged for giving punishment to the torturers of domestic workers, providing legal aid in domestic workers case and providing fair treatment and compensation to the victim domestic workers.

It is to be mentioned that, Fahima, Rubi, Bristy, Lamia, Sima and along with many more child domestic workers were tortured by the employers for past few days at different places in the country.
