Human chain formed observing Human Rights Day 2017

HC_Mirpur_10_12_2017“Be vocal for establishing workers’ human dignity and equality and justice at labour sector” following this slogan Sramik Karmochari Oikya Parishad-SKOP Dhaka-Mirpur area coordination committee and IndustriAll Bangladesh Council Dhaka-Mirpur cluster committee, with the support of BILS formed a human chain observing Human Rights Day 2017 on December 10, 2017 in front of PSC Convention Hall, Mirpur.

Speakers in the human chain demanded for enacting laws for protection from sexual harassment based on the verdict of High Court to ensure women-friendly workplace, providing appointment letter, and paying due wages and overtime allowance to all employed workers at RMG sector, ensuring particular working hour, maternity leave and bonus for women workers according to Labour Law.

BILS Advisory Council Member and Jatiya Garments Sramik Federation President Amirul Haque Amin presided over the human chain while Sramik Karmochari Oikya Parishad-SKOP, Dhaka-Mirpur area Coordinator and BILS Executive Council Member Kazi Rahima Sathi conducted the programme. Besides, Leaders of Dhaka-Mirpur area Trade Union Federations, different workers organisations, garments workers, journalists and local people participated in the human chain.
