Discussion meeting held observing International Day for Elimination Violence against Women

“Orange the world : Hear me too” following the slogan BILS, with the support of Mondiaal FNV organised a discussion meeting to observe International Day for Elimination Violence against Women on November 29, 2018 at Mirpur Adarsha High School Auditorium Room.

Raising awareness among the workers, Trade Union leaders regarding gender based violence was the main objective of the meeting. Experience of women workers in RMG sector at inside and outside of workplace, organising women workers and defining the activities of Trade Union to protect their rights and defining activities to eliminate gender based violence at inside and outside of workplace were the main discussed issues of the meeting.

Sramik Karmochari Oikya Parishad-SKOP, Dhaka-Mirpur Area Coordination Committee Coordinator and BILS Executive Council Member Kazi Rahima Akhter Sathi and BILS Executive Council member and Dhaka-Mirpur cluster Committee-IBC Coordinator Amirul Haque Amin delivered the introductory speech. Among others leaders of SKOP affiliated and BILS associated national Trade Union Federations and IndustriAll affiliated Federations local Trade Union leaders involved with RMG sector of Dhaka-Mirpur area participated in the meeting.
