“Be vocal and active in establishing workers’ human dignity and equality and justice in labour sector” following this slogan BILS, with the support of Mondiaal FNV organised a discussion meeting to observe Human Rights Day 2018 on December 10, 2018 at BEGUF Office Auditorium, Board Bazar, Gazipur.

Discussing the success in implementing workers’ right, challenges and way forward to overcome the problems for raising awareness among the workers at area level along with intensifying the activities of Trade Union were the main objectives the meeting.

BILS-FNV Project Advisory Committee member and Tongi-Gazipur area Coordination Committee Coordinator Shamsunnahar Bhuiyan chaired meeting and delivered the welcome speech while IndustriAll Bangladesh Council, Tongi-Gazipur cluster Committee representative and BILS Programme Officer Md. Sayeduzzaman Mithu delivered the introductory speech.

Jatiya Sramik Federation Senior Vice-President A. S. M. Jakaria presented the keynote paper on “Labour Rights issues, according to the Declaration of Universal Human Rights 1948”.

SKOP affiliated and BILS associated national Trade Union Federations and IndustriAll affiliated Federations local Trade Union leaders involved with RMG sector of Tongi-Gazipur area participated in the meeting.
