BILS with the supported of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) organised a consultation meeting with NTUC on “Definition, Arena and Legal Status of Informal Sector: Provision of Common Law” on October 04, 2020 at BILS Seminar Hall, Dhaka

Main objectives of the programme were to identify the gap of entitlement and protection of the informal workers in existing labour law, rules and policies; determination of advocacy strategies for the inclusion of informal workers in labour law, rules and policies.

BILS Advisory Council Member Mesbahuddin Ahmed chaired the meeting, while BILS Executive Council Secretary Abul Kalam Azad acted as moderator.  Bangladesh Jatyiatabadi Shramik Dal President Anwar Hossain, Jatyia Shramik Federation Acting President Quamrul Ahsan, Bangladesher Jatyia Shramik Jote president Abdul Kader Howlader, Jatyia Shramik Jote Bangladesh vice president Abdur Razzak, Bangladesh Mukto Shramik Federation Acting General Secretary Shahidulla Badal, Workers Specialist of Decent Work Technical Team at ILO South Asia Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed, BILS Director Nazma Yesmin, resource person Adv. Nazrul Islam were present at the meeting.
