Struggling trade union leader, Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS Advisory Council Member, President of Jatiya Sramik League, Chairperson of International Trade Union Confederation-Bangladesh Council, Joint Coordinator of Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SKOP) Fazlul Haque Montu died in a hospital in the capital on Friday morning, November 20, 2020 (Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He was 71 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, relatives, numerous struggling colleagues, admirers and well-wishers.
Expressing deep condolence on behalf of the BILS family over the death of heroic freedom fighter Fazlul Haque Montu, Chairman Md. Habibur Rahman Shiraz and Secretary General and Executive Director Nazrul Islam Khan said his death had caused irreparable damage to the trade union movement at national and international level. They prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and said that Fazlul Haque Montu worked for the welfare of working people all his life. The leaders conveyed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
