BILS under its’ DGB-BW project organised an awareness rising camp for workers on October 20, 2021 at Roufabad, Baizid, Chattogram.
The awareness rising camp was organised amid Covid-19 situation, following all possible health restrictions with limited participation and maintaining social distances for health-safety.
Speakers in the awareness rising camp said RMG sector workers are contributing largely for the economic growth of the country but they are often being deprived of their basic and law-covered rights. They said, we have to work for the overall improvement in the livelihood of workers. We have no alternative of saving our life and livelihood amid pandemic situation-they opined.
BILS Core Team Members and local BLF leaders from Ready Made Garments-RMG sector organised the camp with the participation of 50 workers. BLF leader and Women Committee Chattogram president Golzar Begum chaired the camp and BILS-LRSC Centre Coordination Committee president A M Nazimuddin was the chief guest. While BILS Senior Officer Pahari Bhattacharjee, BLF leader Abu Ahmed and Rabiul Huq Shimul, BILS Core Team members also from BLF namely Jubidun Nahar Julee, Amir Hossain, Bibi Amena and Hafez Jashimuddin also spoke on the occasion. Local JSL leader Javed Alam expressed solidarity with the BILS initiative.
