ILO Migration Project

Name of the Project: Advocacy Initiatives to improve implementation of laws/policies to ensure decent work environment and to protect rights of women migrant workers in line with relevant ILO conventions

Goal (Objectives):

  1. Build Knowledge and sensitize policy makers and relevant stakeholders on the vulnerabilities of the women workers in domestic sector inside of the country and abroad to understand working-living condition of women worker in order to protect their rights.
  2. Push forward the mandate of ratification of ILO Convention 189 and draw attention of the policy makers and relevant stakeholders to ratify C-189
  3. Analyse the situation of women workers in informal economy and capacity building of TU to reduce vulnerability to trafficking and forced labour of women workers.

Major Activities: Advocacy, Training, Lobby, Research, Publication and Campaign

Location: Dhaka district and adjacent area

Target Groups: Women domestic workers both in and outside the country.
