The discussion meeting was presided over TUC Chattogram President Tapan Datta. BILS-LRSC Coordintion Committee Chairman A M Nazimuddin and Member-Secretary Md. Safar Ali present as guest speakers. BILS-LRSC senior office Pahari Bhattacharjee and Rizwanur Rahman Khan was also the enlisted discussants. Railway sector Trade Union leaders namely Sheikh Lokman Hossain, Sirazul Islam, Naimul Parvez of JSL, M R Monju & Abu Bakkar of BJSD, Kazi Anwarul Huq & Tamanna Binte Azad of BFTUC, S K Bari of “Railway Karigor Parishad” and Mokhlesur Rahman of Station Master Workers Union spoke on the occasion. The camp was attended by 152 Railway-sector trade union leaders and activists.
The meeting expressed deep concern over the unemployment of informal sector workers, ongoing illegal lay-off and forced termination of workers in printing and electronic media, RMG and other sectors, social insecurity of day laborers, construction workers, hotel and health workers beside less payment by the employers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
