Bangaldesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) jointly organised a research report sharing meeting titled “Linkages of Trade and Labour Standards in Global Supply Chains in Bangladesh” on May 29, 2017 at The Daily Star Seminar Hall Centre in Dhaka.
The meeting aimed to bring together participants from the National Trade Union Federations, National and International NGOs, Trade Union leaders from RMG and Leathers, Academicians and Experts.
BILS Advisory Council Member Shah Mohd. Abu Zafar chaired the meeting, while Rajshahi University Professor Dr. Jakir Hossain presented and explained the report. BILS Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed was present at the discussion session as Moderator. Among others, BILS Joint Secretary General Dr. Wajedul Islam Khan, FES Resident Representative Franziska Korn, BILS Advisory Council Member Roy Ramesh Chandra, NCCWE Secretary General Chowdhury Ashiqul Alam, Tannery Workers Union General Secretary Abdul Malek, Awaj Foundation Executive Director Nazma Akhter, BILS Executive Council Member Shakil Akhter Chowdhury and BMSF Secretary Shahidullah Badal discussed at the session.
