BILS, with the support of Oxfam Bangladesh organised a consultation titled “Sharing of ‘Domestic Workers Protection and Welfare Policy- 2015” with the Public representatives and civil society” was held on December 29, 2017 at Trishal Upazila Parishad Hall Room, Trishal, Mymensingh.

The consultation was organised aiming at identifying the strategies and activities on developing a model in TrishalUpazila under Mymensingh district regarding implementing Domestic Workers Protection and Welfare Policy 2015 especially starting registration process, forming Monitoring Cell and Inspection team.

Trishal Upozilla Chairman Alhaj Joinul Abedin presided over the consultation while Ministry of Labour and Employment Joint Secretary Aminul Islam was present as chief guest. Trishal Upozilla Women Vice Chairman Lutfunnesa Beauty coordinated and Mymensingh SKOP Coordinator Mahbub Bin Saif conducted the programme while DWRN Coordinator and BILS Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmmed was present as moderator.

Local government representatives of 12 Union Parishad of Trishal Upozilla specially the women councilors, districts level stakeholders, representatives of Trade Unions and journalists participated in the programme for sharing their experience. They also gave recommendations on future programmes in Mymensingh for raising awareness and protecting rights of the domestic workers specially starting registration process, forming monitoring cell and inspection team.
